Pros

  • Accessibility. Miro can use a great variety of content sources, whether paid or free.
  • Ease of use. Even the advanced functionality of Miro is accessible via guides on the internet. Windows can also be separated to both watch and browse at the same time.
  • Active development. While Miro is a finished product, work has continued to ensure that it is still improving.

Cons

  • Video access. If a video or stream is not accessible in your country, Miro on its own cannot grant the user permission to view them.
  • Quality. While Miro allows the user to view multitudes of content at once, it does so only under the user's internet connection constraints, which may not be equipped to handle as much as the user likes.

Miro is an online video aggregation tool that allows the user to condense their favorite Internet video and TV sources into one convenient portal. Drawing from a multitude of sources, Miro can either directly stream content or download videos via Bittorrent for the user to watch when they desire. In addition, for the user on the go, Miro has a conversion option so that files may be transferred to the handheld device of choice. Adding RSS feeds keeps the user up to date with additional forms of media such as podcasts or video blogs, downloading them for the user to play, again, at any time.

A window-based interface allows a Miro user to sort their video and streaming needs easily, providing a simple experience for many users who want to gather all their favorite streaming sites into one spot. Miro also allows easy access to certain stores where additional media can be purchased on the spot. Incorporating all kinds of media outlets into one window allows the user unparalleled control over when, where, and how they get their videos and streaming content. Advanced users can determine how often content is acquired, how it is downloaded, and where the content is stored on the user's system. Extensions are also available for the user who wishes to further customize their experience.
